What our customers say

I would wholeheartedly recommend Red Apple designs to anyone looking for a concept-to-realisation interpretation & fit out.

Working with Red Apple Design on the Sir Charles Kao UTC project in Harlow enabled a highly effective partnership between architect, furniture and equipment. The highly dedicated team, led by your good self not only fully realised the educational vision but moved beyond it. The finished concept is a truly unique organisation where the brand identity and educational vision are wholly apparent. The educational brief was interpreted by a highly skilled team who were able to source an interior vision that not only provided value for money but more importantly lended itself exceptionally well to the new era of education that Sir Charles Kao UTC is chartered to offer. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Mike McKeaveney
Principal Sir Charles Kao UTC

Red Apple Designs added significant value to the interpretation of the educational brief into the design of the building & individual spaces within it.

Their role was critical to the success of the building and the results are clear to see. Their process of engaging in partnership with the architects Jestico & Whiles, meant furniture and equipment became seamless in its delivery with the building. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Stephen Leahey
Principal The Leigh UTC

They challenged us, showed us new ideas & delivered everything we wanted and much more.

Red Apple Designs delivered a marvelous scheme for Burton. Their engagement with us throughout the process was great. Their understanding of our needs was exceptional and so gave us a truly inspired solution.

Higher Education

We design all manner of spaces for higher education up to and including research facilities. Our most recent work was Grangegorman Campus Dublin University of Technology Central Quad and East quad which was awarded Education building of the year 2021 Irish Construction Industry Awards. The 2 quads were 5 storey buildings incorporating all areas of curriculum for technology, science, catering, arts and media. Our role included planning all spaces from a blank sheet of paper taking the design brief and creating spaces that delivered the curriculum, through to procurement and installation.

The role included laboratory planning and design, creating a National Optometry Centre, a National Concert Hall and support spaces, fine arts and media, catering teaching plus teaching super spaces such as classrooms, meeting rooms and lecture spaces. In all spaces, we designed a solution that was right for each department and each space considering all aspects of coordination including gasses, audio visual requirements, extract and power and data demands. This role was pivotal in terms of translating highly technical curriculum demands into the design team, incorporating legacy equipment including high spec scientific equipment, items of significant display impact including some ‘museum’ pieces and a mass of general equipment exceeding 5,000 items.

The Joiners Shop is a Scheduled Ancient Monument situated at the heart of Chatham’s world-famous historic dockyard. With over 100 buildings and structures, including 47 Scheduled Ancient Monuments, the Historic Dockyard is both an international maritime heritage site and designated conservation area.

Many of the building’s remarkable original features remain in its latest incarnation – with every care being given to preserve and incorporate them into the new design, wherever possible. Considering the building’s age, it has remained in relatively good condition. Initial surveys showed signs of water ingress so structural work was required to prevent further damage and to create a suitable modern working environment.

Today, The Joiners Shop stands as a showcase for both innovative design and cutting-edge restoration techniques.
