PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
New secondary school as part of the expansion of the Trust’s schools. It sits within a deprived area of Birmingham more recently known for the documentary Benefits street which is a road away.
THE RAD SCOPE & BRIEF:
To design and coordinate the furniture and equipment. The brief was to create an environment to nurture young people’s growth and ignite their passion for learning.
OUR SOLUTION:
We focussed on the adaptability of spaces but still enabled each space to have a specialism by managing storage and services.
HOW WE MADE A DIFFERENCE:
- Helped develop the technology curriculum potential beyond the school’s expectations, creating a centre of excellence.
- Brought our knowledge of equipment, safe working zones and supply chain expertise to create the maximum space utilisation with the best solution for the
- Delivered workable ideas on space zoning that enabled the school to exceed all
- Created a safe but inspiring environment
- Advised on safety aspects of furniture and equipment in a difficult behavioural environment
- Delivered on time and on budget
- The LRC was placed above dining with a view to it from the entrance to deliver learning at the heart of the school both literally and in the minds of students.
